Students first viewed a power point on tessellations and artists who create such work. This assignment was completed in many steps and began by creating an equilateral triangle. Students then drew half of a face on each side of the triangle and used that as a template to create a hexagon and to finish their design.

  1. Nice! I've always taught tessellations the way where you manipulate a square piece.. but this is wonderful new way for me to try!

  2. I just love this way. I have more success than with the square!
